The Process

Brief

• This project explores the idea of customising a bicycle to suit the needs of the consumer.

• Many road bikes are available on the market today but they are expensive. In mostly urban environments, 'fixie' road bikes or single speed road bikes are a relatively new, successful and costly trend.

• The construction of this single speed bike is a consequence of this trend but at a very low cost. Every part has been specifically chosen and has been purchased mostly on the website - eBay.

• When designing and making your own bike it results in a very efficient and enjoyable experience because the maker has considered how every component has been put together and therefore the outcome resolves in an aesthetically pleasing and smoothly running two-wheeled vehicle (tweaks can be made to the bike to optimise its performance).
